You would have to vote for term limits to see real change in these United States. Bush is just another blip on the screen. He's guilty of being a war time president and that's about it. A mojority of the house and senate were with him on the war two years ago and, now that things are going bad every one want to move away from him... That's human nature especially in politics.
By votiing for term limits on the house and senate we would send a message that they should do what we want or they will not be there for long. Just as examples and not because I want to speak to my disappointment but, why would we keep wall flowers like Ted Kennedy or John McCain in office for so long?
The US has hit the critical point and needs fresh new faces that will enforce the will of the people and not just collect money. The difference between the democrats and republicans is such old news. I think both parties probably have a place were they go hide, hit the bong and laugh at our rants and raves about how one party did this or the other party did that. The politics of politics hasn't changed for fifty years because we keep letting it happen.
If you want to be mad about the Bush administration go ahead but to stop war, financial ruin, stupid bills, incredible public ignorance and those politicians who walk around in expensive suits acting like they are something more than the officials we voted for, lets rotate them on a more reguar basis. The senate and the house can control any president.

Those generals retired, they weren't fired. I'm sure that behind the scenes, a lot of generals don't support Bush, you just don't hear about it often. You are right though, they may have stopped saying "Stay the cource", but 'By Golly' they intend to keep doing it.
"How wrong do they have to be for the country to simply stop this war or at least stop letting the same people do the same things?"
I like the way you assume to know everything about the conflict.

I need to chime in on this. Bush has fired a number of generals who do not agree with his policies. If you noticed, bush has nobody in his company who disagrees with him. General Shenseki ( a kick *** asian general) was fired because he told bush his Iraqi invasion plan was moronic and said he needed more than three times his occupation force to keep the country from falling apart. ( guess who would be laughing his **** off if it was not so tragic) The previous general is loosing his command which is going to General portrayas (sorry I can not spell his weird name and I knew his kid personally, he's a fat porker who thinks he is black.)
Suffice to say this war is showing how fragile the command structure is to the whims of one man.

The Middle East will never be peaceful without ending the Israeli occupation. This is the conclusion of the UN, EU, Backer-Hamilton report, and President Carter new book.

Rumsfield resigned after he lost the confidence of the military leadership.
And that general was not 'fired' instead he is being promoted to become the highest ranking officer in the US Army.
