This is a new occurrance for me but my scalp feels itchy and I tend to want to scratch it, and when I do that it feels moist and a bit oily. I usually had short hair in my life, but for the last 2 years I've let it grown long, could that be the issue? It's not getting enough air?

What can I do to stop this Itchy scalp?

I am 32 years old , It's not puberty related.

Can you recommend a good shampoo product?

Buy a product especially for oily scalp. There may be a reaction with what ever product you are using. There is little connection to the long hair unless you are washing more or less often.

Venom,
You need to get someone to check your scalp. It may just be an itchy rash, but it could be something major.

Also, head lice are going around some of the schools in Wichita, KS. They make the back of your head itchy.

Check it first (you can probablly go to the county health department. )

Next try a medicated dandruff type shampoo. My son periodically has an itchy scalp without dandruff, but dandruff shampoo takes care of the itch.

Be sure and rinse well after shampooing.

Good luck!

Not to be mean or anything, but when you go through puberty, your body puts out more oils and your hair gets greasier. The same thing happened to me. All you have to do is wash your hair a little more frequently. I know when my hair gets greasy it itches really bad. Hope I help!!!
