Judges are in fact impeachable by Congress. But it is a check they seldom use, despite judicial rulings that are severe and egregious attacks upon the Constitution, our rights and our freedoms.

In essence, Congress' failure to use their power to check and balance the Judiciary is an act of complicity in expansion of the federal government beyond its constitutional limits.

This is why it has been so important to have originalist jurists on the Supreme court.

The Constitution provides for the removal of federal judges. Article 3, Section says the federal judges serve for good behavior. Obviously, a pattern of outrageous rulings would constitute bad behavior. At that point, congress should initiate impeachment proceedings.

For the record, the John Birch Society circulated a petition for the impeachment of Earl Warren, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in the mid 1960's. Warren was never impeached, but he did eventually step down. He is responsible for some of the worst rulings of the Court.

I agree, they are the ones running the country, not the president. The president put something into motion and I don't remember what it was but a judge ruled against it and it was dropped! Part of it is they are put in for life and while I understand this theory it's not working cause they don't care about public opinion and as you said it's a power trip. The liberal ones are the worse. They need to be given more scruitny and their records put more out there to the public.

They aren't accountable to anyone unless they are elected.

You could try to get an amendment to the Constitution to make the appointed judges impeachable. That would be the only way to change things.
