Recently rescued a dog. He had kennel cough, had him treated, it got worse. Went to another vet, and he said he had pnemonia. Tryed diff antibiotics. He still didn't improve. Took him back to vet and he was admitted with iv drugs and fluids for almost 4 days. Brought him home, noticed some improvement, cough still bad. He stopped eating and drinking. Bought pedialyte, gave thru a syrynge, pretty much, the pedialyte saved his life. He then had energy, drank and ate on his own for a few days. He still has the cough, but not as bad. Anyway, he is just a 5 month old pup. He played and ran around when we first got him, played fetch, taught him to sit, now, he just lays there. He doesn't even want to go out to pee. He seems like he aged 15 yrs. I know he isn't all the way recovered yet, but I am just curious, if my puppys personality will come back, for there are no signs of the same dog.

Poor little guy! He's been through so much, in his 5 months of life. I would give him a day or two and keep an eye on him, and if he's not any better, I would take him to the vet again. I think he's probably still feeling a little ill, and it will take him some time to recover. You can also call the vet that treated him, it's free, and explain to them what's going on, and they should be able to give you an idea, if it's normal or not, and what they think you should do. I sure hope he feels better soon!

the probabilities are virtually both a hypersensitive reaction, chilly, or top respiratory an infection or some thing else. yet on your peace of recommendations and the well being and wellbeing on your cat, take her or him to the vet to be positive only what it would want to have. It does no longer harm to take your different cats too to the vet to boot. i for my section have in no way universal of a dogs or human to settlement a similar ailment that a cat has. Cats sure, can infect different cats, because they stay at the same time and sleep at the same time and are of a similar species. i wish i became of a few help to you and that i wish your animals proceed to be to be your consistent companions and pals for some destiny years! sturdy success!

Give him time. If a dog has a fever over 106 degrees it could change him because at that temperature, it affects the brain. But more likely, he is just still very sick.

Be patient, Sweetie. Just like you, when you have had a bad illness, it takes time to regain your energy and play.

What you are seeing is VERY typical after a hard illness......it's the body's way of recuperating!!

You need to give him time! He's been through a traumatic experience and his health isn't even back yet. Don't rush him, let him recover in his own time - he will get his personality back.
