Uninstalling Windows 2000 is more of an issue of how and where you installed it on the drive than anything else.

There are three general installation methods, stand-alone, upgrading over a previous operating system and a dual-boot configuration.

There are also other factors to be considered, such as third party programs that have been installed as well as data and document issues.

If your computer is not capable of running Windows 2000, it will prevent it from installing. If you upgrade to W2000, it you can not return to W98 without formatting the hard drive.

Rather than installing W2000, I would recommend Windows XP. It has lower system requirments then Windows 2000, runs much better then Windows 2000 on older PCs (often better then Windows 98) and should be able to run any program that works on Windows 2000.

Like W2000, it will not install if you computer is not capable of running it. You also can not downgrade from XP to 98.

As long as you don't format the drive to NTFS I think there is an uninstall for 2000. Best thing is verify you have the system resources and do a complete system backup

You have not mentioned what is ur configuration.

If you want it now windows 98 only or both win_98 and win_2k.

If you want only windows 98, it is better to reformatted it.

Update your question, more users will answer for your question or i will answer it.
