As a professional engineer working in the construction sector in an area ,what considerations do i have to take into account during designing of an important structure like multi story building or bridge ,if we know that the construction area is earthquake prone zone?

You need to design for lateral loads. But if you have not taken any seismic design courses, then it sounds like you are going outside your area of expertise.

Sounds like you need to pay me to look up the codes and do your design.
