As I was walking in to work this morning I was stopped and yelled at by a complete stranger! I had flicked my smoke butt in to the street, and she felt the need to tell me to pick up my garbage, continued to scream "what the hell is wrong with you, pick it up!" This crazy woman would not let me enter my work she held the door until I started yelling back at her. My question is even if you think what I did was wrong, would you ever stop a person to yell at them for it?

Before I quit I always threw my butts on the ground, wrong?? maybe, but my choice to make. She was crazy and if that gets her riled up then she has a screw loose and probably gets worked up over everything. She will probably have a stroke or ulcer at a young age. Blow it off so you don't have one also.

No, I have more self respect than to yell at a stranger...if I was that upset, I would pick up the butt and possibly in a CALM way say that a trash can is a better place for a butt that is out. But I would leave it at that. I would think that if she had really wanted to make an impact on you, she would have walked in and asked to speak to you boss, and complain about your littering.

Yell? No but I would say something. I am a smoker and what I do is butt out the cig. , make sure it's out and the tip is cool, then either throw it away or put it back in my pack until I get to a trash can. I just don't like littering and cig. butts are the worst.

What you did was unquestionably wrong. I am a former smoker my self. Filters don't biodegrade. I made sure to put the cigarette out and then to throw the butt out in receptacle. Please be more considerate of the environment in the future. Thank you.

The woman was unquestionably wrong. It is never what you say but how you say it. If someone yelled at me like that I would deliberately NOT do what they wanted out of indignation. She had no right to treat you like that. Furthermore, how was that woman to know who she was dealing with? You could have a gun in your purse, you could be a martial arts expert or you could be a power government official. She needs to learn how to pick her battles. I would have yelled at her too.

No. My parents have smoked for most of my life span. I would never yell at a smoker. Yes I don't smoke myself and hate smoking. If I saw a place to throw the butt away I would point it out to you but weren't make a big deal out if it.

No I would not stop and yell at you. However, I HATE it when people flick their cigarette butts in the street. It's littering just like throughing a wrapper in the street.

I hate to see people littering but no I have never went off like that I am a little more diplomatic then that. I would have walked over and said I see your busy i'll get that for you and then maybe you'll think about how other people view things.

Some people can get very upset with the actions of others, i tend to put it out and dispose of it in the bin.
Maybe she has been attacked by a butt in a past life and it has gone to her head.

i wouldn't have said anything to you but i do hate it when people litter...those butts have a lot of poisons left in them and the rain leeches it out, it takes forever for them to dissenegrate so they're around for awhile, not to mention how ugly a pile of them on the street looks...when i used to smoke, i'd tear the butt off and put it in my pocket or backpack till i found a trashcan...it's not hard

I've mouthed off at people who've done that among other things but not to that extent. She was a bit on the crazy side.

Really though, is it so hard to put out the cigarette and put it in the trash?
