Whether you eat carbs or proteins or whatever, it looks like you would have this problem anyway. We are told that it is not a good idea to have this 'problem' and if we are tired after lunch then there's something wrong with us. Nothing is wrong with you, you CAN eat carbs, it is a natural process you are feeling tired because you are digesting a large amount of food. In more relaxed countries you are allowed to have a little sleep after lunch and then back to work as it's been for thousands of years that we lived this way. So don't let any self proclaimed nutritionist and fitness fanatic tell you any different. The problem starts when you have to be at work and you have to give it your 100 percent. I suggest you take some caffein tablets or something to keep you awake, but it would be better if you could go out for 20 minutes and have a power nap in your car.

The problem can simply be from the lack of a proper diet and the lack of vitamins. This was the case for me and I changed it all it up.

Started eating healthier and also made an emphasis to take all the vitamins I need daily. Recently found a natural energy supplement filled with the vitamins I needed everyday. It's called instant energy, found it on amazon and I've really felt better as the day dragged on. Been pleasantly surprised so far.

The body naturally gets tired ~6-7 hours after waking up. Drink some water and take a walk around this time to help overcome the drowsiness.

Your blood sugar drop in your body without eating for periods of time. So when you do eat your blood sugars spike for a short period of time . This is when your body is telling you to relax and maybe take a rest so it can normalize its self.

Try eating break feast in the morning to keep your blood sugars up until lunch, and you should solve this problem. If this keeps up for to long you should have your blood sugars checked by a Doctor. You could have early on set of diabetes

eat small meals in between amd before lunch. When you eat fast on an empty stomach the onslaught of calories causes sudden insulin surge and this increases nitrogen in the brain thus making one drowsy. brougfht on by the influx of calories, but if you eat small meals in between you can avoid this insulin surge and not get tired.

Stop eating carbs for lunch. They require the most blood to deal with.

Maybe you should try having a light lunch such as a sandwich with fruit and fruit juices and or water.
Smaller servings of carbs and more protein ,fruit and veg and water(not carbonated)

Your body is using its energy to digest the food, that is why you feel tired. Avoid carbohydrates at lunch time to help with this problem.
