We just bought a new poodle. She is milk chocolate brown in color. She has a smushed in face and blue eyes. She is still a puppy and only weighs about 1 pound. I have been racking my brain but still no name I like. Please help!

My husband always says a dog should name itself. We had an 8 wk old yellow lab and the first night we had her, she escaped from the yard. A neighbor's daughter found her (we did not have tags for her yet), scooped her up and drove home with her to Guthrie, about 50 miles away from where lived (we live in Oklahoma). After we found her and got her back home, she was named Guthrie. However, you don't need to lose your dog to name it. Just watch her and see what her personality is or if she does something special. My current dog, a Chihuahua, is named Bullet because we are OSU fans and that is the name of OSU's horse. Turns out, she races around the house at night as fast as a bullet! It may take some time, but she will do something to let you know who she is. Good luck!

Cocoa or Mocha would be cute. Poodles are sort of fancy, so maybe a fancy girl's name would be suitable. Tiffany, Morgan, Lacy, London, Chanel, Diamond, Starla, Fancy.

A friend of my parents had a poodle they named Broccoli, which was funny, because the curly hair of his head did make him look like broccoli.

Poodles always seem to be fairly prissy and think highly of themselves. I think the name should reflect that. Here's a few I like:

Leia (like from Star Wars.)
FiFi
Lady
Missy
Cocoa

If its a poodle, it needs a sort of posh rich girl name, cos they walk around like they own the show.

Maybe...Paris...or...Nicole! I quite like Paris actually for a poodle. Be sure to get it a collar with 'Princess Paris' in diamantes!ha.

I like the name Priscilla. You could call her Prissy for short. Or Miss Priss. That's cute!

It's a stretch for a dog's name, but being as she is small and chocolate colored, how about Hershey's Kiss.
