Yes for one year, unless South Africa is one of the countries that are able to exchange your licence. If you haven't passed your driving test by the end of that year then you will revert to being a learner driver, will have to have L plates on your vehicle and will not be able to drive on our roads unless you have a full licence holder who is over 21 and has held their full licence for at least three years, in the car with you.

Will see if I can find the link...

Yes you can. You can drive on it for up to a year. After a year you will need to get a UK driving licence, either by passing a UK test or exchanging your South African one for a UK one.
However, if you're only coming over here for a holiday or short period of time, it'll be fine!

No, you should get an international driver's licence from the AA in South Africa before you come but it is only valid for six months when you would have to take the UK driving test, which is almost identical to the South African one.

If you are in SA, coming to the UK as a visitor, get an international driving license. You should be able to get it from the AA.

If you are living in the UK on a more permanent basis, you can exchange your SA license for a British one
