Everything has not always been. God has always been. He created everything.

In answer to your deeper question, we've discussed this in Bible studies that I've attended. Most people disagreed with me. It doesn't state anywhere in the Bible that our universe is or was the only universe ever created. Perhaps before our universe was created, there was another (maybe several -- maybe millions). Since our universe is continually expanding, won't it get to some point where it will stop or reverse -- kind of like a rubber band? How far can it expand? Maybe universes exist in cycles, and maybe someday it'll begin shrinking and eventually collapse on itself. Then, maybe God will create yet another universe.

If God has always been, He's been doing something before he created our current universe. Maybe the first line of Genesis is missing 3 words: In the beginning (of our universe) . . .

God didn't create mankind "all of a sudden." He created all of us spiritually before we were born in mortality.

We have nothing revealed that tells us how long it took for God's children to be born spiritually. His Firstborn was Jehovah, usually known as Jesus Christ. Sometime after, all other spirits were born of Heavenly Parents.

The "all of a sudden" birth was not. We came into this world as planned by the Father for a special reason.

There is no answer to this as 'God' is a primitive human invention. Don't worry though...cosmologists are working on it!

The more you ask these type of questions, BTW, the more ludicrous religion becomes. Good for you...
