when my brother talks to his wife he finishes every godamn sentence with "sweetie" in a sort of baby voice

"that is ok sweetie"
"you want a drink sweetie"?
"good one sweetie"
"should we go shopping sweetie"?
"are you tired sweetie"?
"are we visiting your family sweetie"?
"let's barbecue the file mignon sweetie"
"is there propane in the barbecue sweetie"?
etc etc etc.

Is this cute or nauseating to you sweetie?

"Pass the syrup, sweetie."
"I'm going to play in traffic, sweetie."
"You're a real b-itch, sweetie."

All this sweetness is enough to give everyone here a cavity . . . sweetie.

It gets annoying. Especially for people who aren't your brother's "Sweetie." I had a boyfriend who always called me "baby." It was cute after like 5 times and then I began to wonder if he remembered my name. I made it clear with my next boyfriend that I prefer to be called by my first name and he can call me some kind of pet name when he feels that it's very warranted. Luckily, he felt the same way.

It's your brother. It's his wife. He can call her "sweetie", "shmoopy" or even "yo, *****" if he wants--whatever they like to call each other is between them.

Are you jealous? There is nothing wrong with someone showing their love for one another. It could be worse, they could have their hands down each others pants all the time!

Yeah it's kinda like using the " L " word, if it's used too much it loses it's meaning.
