Yes, it can harm your cat.
Some contact solutions are mostly saline, but even at that there are other chemicals in them..even to much saline ( salt water ) is not good for your cat.
Make sure to keep warm water running while you dump the extra solution down the drain...this will help to get it out of the sink and since the water is warm the chances are your cat won't lick it up.
I wouldn't use hot water in case it would splash on the cat.

You probably shouldn't let him lick up the solution if it contains chemicals or soaps... Even if it's just saline it's probably not terribly good for him. When you pour the extra down the sink turn the faucet on and let the water wash it away. That way he's just licking up clean water.

It seems to me that your cat adores you by following you to the bathroom. There must be something in your contact solution that really attracts him. Obviously it hasn't hurt him, but my answer is to put a little of the drop, from your finger, onto his paw and let him lick it from his paw to try and stop him from climbing in the sink. Usually when you do this, sometimes more than once, he's satisfied and won't climb into the sink again. However, he may be missing something he needs in his diet and only your vet can help with this. Good luck and good health.

Contact solution does have a cleaning solution mixed in, but it is not enough to harm your cat, as long as your cat does not just drink it like it was water. It is the same thing that you put into your eyes. It is actually mostly just water and saline, or in another words, SALT.

no i wouldnt want my cat to lik up the contact solution. Do you try rinsing it out? or try drying the sink. I mean if he hasnt gotten sick yet then i suppose he is fine but who knows about the long term affect. Try and keep him form doing this.

You really should be consulting with a vet. I do know that you can use saline to wash out the cats eyes and wounds. It probably won't harm him to drink it but it is very high in sodium, which may not be so good for him.

Its pretty much just saline solution and Id guess that if you can stick it in your eye ball it isnt going to hurt the cat.
