When is the best time to get one? One month before? Also, when should we get the marriage license? Like the week of the wedding, day before?

for Mississippi you must get a blood test within 30 days of getting a license. The license is good for 30 days after 72 hours. So I'm getting a blood test next month then the license the next just to get it out of the way and off of my mind! Thanks for all your answers.

Marriage licenses are typically only good for thirty days so that should give you a time frame on when to get it .In either case you should inquire with your local county courthouse on both as a blood test may not be required and marriage license expiration's may vary by county .

Every state has different laws. Virginia and Maryland don't require a blood test but Jersey did when we got married and they were VERY particular about when to get the test and license and even WHERE to apply for the license (which town). The place to apply was even different depending on whether the bride lived in the state, or just the groom, or neither. They also had rules about who could pick up the certificate, and they required a witness to go with you who could swear to knowing you both for a certain amount of time.

So to be sure you should call a town hall in the state you're getting married in and ask what laws apply.

Depends where you live in Wisconsin we didn't need a blood test, but for the license they need up to a week to process the paperwork and the license is good for 30 days, which means you only have 30 days to get married. Check with your local courthouse to see if they are different.

It depends on your state. In Indiana, the woman needs to provide documentation that she has been vaccinated against the measles or submit to a blood test. Since I don't have my vaccination records, I got the test. Not all states require it.

As far as the marriage license goes, find out what the waiting period is. Some places have up to a two-week waiting period from when you apply. Call the local government agency in charge or licenses where you are getting married. Many agencies also have websites with all this information.

You dont have to get a blood test anymore if you are in theUSA. A marraige license is good for 30 days so any time before the wedding. Get it early as it will be one less thing to worry about.

Go to your local registrar's office they will be able to tell you when to get your license, in some states you have to wait at least 72 hrs after you get it, and no later than 30 days. as far as a blood test, i don't think you have to have a blood test anymore.

Check the laws in your state, I don't think you need blood tests anymore. As for the marriage license, I believe they are valid for 60 days after you obtain them at the local court house. Congratulations!

It depends on what state you live in, or are getting married in. Go to the state's web site and research the criteria for a marriage license.

your husband doesn't need one...the blood test is for the women.

i didn't need one because i had our daughter before we got married, and when i was pregnant, i had that specific blood test done.

get your marriage license whenever. there is no law stating "good times" to get it. just make sure you have everything when you go.
