This is SERIOUS QUESTION. No BS answers and be TRUTHFUL. I know a lot of you like to exaggerate and lie to prove a point but seriously. You all make it sound like Christians are lining up at your door to convert you. But I call BS!
So when was the last time?
And BTW, Jehovah's Witnesses and Moromons ARE NOT CHRISTIANS and don't count here.

Xavier M - Preachers do not go door to door. They have other responsibilities. Now it sounds to me that he was invited. Did your parents or housemates invite him over? Probably did. I'm referring to soliciting.
And by the way, yes smart ***, a Baptist is a Christian.
I excluded Mormons and JW's b/c they are NOT Christians.

To answer a question. JW's and Mormons are not considered Christian because they do not believe in Jesus' way to salvation. They have changed the bible. JW's don't even believe that Christ was the son of God. Good enough?
It looks to me that you all have had people come to your door.....4 years ago....20 years ago ..... pretty much very rarely.
So I'm trying to understand who's shoving Christianity down your throat.

A couple weeks ago I had a Youth Minister from a local non-denominational church stop by. He was going door-to-door asking for small donations to help his church bring troubled teens to the church.
Seemed like an honest, nice, sincere person, so I kicked in $20 to help him out.

You are very much misinformed with JWs. If you are a reasonable person , you might want to check the official website of JWs at www.watchtower.org and search for topics such as Jesus, salvation, Bible, etc. At least you’ll get an honest information directly from JWs.
To correct your misinformation, we JWs believe that Jesus is the WAY to the Father. Read for example, Christ’s Ransom—God’s Way of Salvation based on John 3:16 was printed at watchtower 99, 2/15.
The difference though is that we have to have faith also in the Father (Rev 7:10 states “Salvation [we owe] to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.” See John 14:1, John 17:25, 26)
We also believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Only begotten Son of the living God. See Watchtower 88, 6/1 entitled “Jesus Christ—God’s Beloved Son” based on Matthew 3:17.
JWs did not change the Bible, Yes, it is different but not wrong.
Example :
Similarly, the New World Translation carefully notes the difference between gno´sis (“knowledge”) and e•pi´gno•sis (translated “accurate knowledge”)—a difference ignored by many others. (Philippians 1:9; 3:8) It also distinguishes between ta´phos (“grave,” an individual burial place), mne´ma (“tomb”), mne•mei´on (“memorial tomb”), and hai´des (“hades,” referring in the Bible to the common grave of dead mankind). (Matthew 27:60, 61; John 5:28; Acts 2:29, 31) Several Bible translations distinguish between ta´phos and mne•mei´on at Matthew 23:29 but not consistently elsewhere.—See Matthew 27:60, 61, New International Version.
Verb tenses are carefully and precisely rendered. For example, in the Revised Standard Version, 1 John 2:1 reads: “If any one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” Shortly after, the same translation renders 1 John 3:6: “No one who abides in [Jesus] sins.” If no follower of Jesus sins, how does 1 John 2:1 apply?
The New World Translation resolves this seeming contradiction. At 1 John 2:1, it says: “I am writing you these things that you may not commit a sin. And yet, if anyone does commit a sin, we have a helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one.” John used the aorist tense in this verse, indicating the committing of an isolated sin, the kind of thing all of us do from time to time because we are imperfect. However, 1 John 3:6 reads: “Everyone remaining in union with him does not practice sin; no one that practices sin has either seen him or come to know him.” John here used the present tense, indicating an ongoing, habitual course of sin that would invalidate anyone’s claim to be a Christian.
One difference also is how John 1:1 was rendered. Although other Bibles states “the Word was God”, the NWT translates it to “the Word was a god”
Notice how other translations render the text as well :
Notice, too, how other translations render this part of the verse:
1808: “and the word was a god.” The New Testament in an Improved Version, Upon the Basis of Archbishop Newcome’s New Translation: With a Corrected Text.
1864: “and a god was the word.” The Emphatic Diaglott, interlinear reading, by Benjamin Wilson.
1928: “and the Word was a divine being.” La Bible du Centenaire, L’Evangile selon Jean, by Maurice Goguel.
1935: “and the Word was divine.” The Bible—An American Translation, by J. M. P. Smith and E. J. Goodspeed.
1946: “and of a divine kind was the Word.” Das Neue Testament, by Ludwig Thimme.
1950: “and the Word was a god.” New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures.
1958: “and the Word was a God.” The New Testament, by James L. Tomanek.
1975: “and a god (or, of a divine kind) was the Word.” Das Evangelium nach Johannes, by Siegfried Schulz.
1978: “and godlike kind was the Logos.” Das Evangelium nach Johannes, by Johannes Schneider.
And by the way, we are true Christians, we do not kill each other during times of war and distress. We follow Jesus command to preach and we strive hard to do the Father's will.
Thanks.

I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Just to clarify: We most certainly DO believe that Jesus Christ (the one and only) is indeed the Son of God and that exercising faith in his ransom sacrifice/shed blood is our ONLY means of salvation.
Our preaching work is done BECAUSE of HIS WORDS at Matthew 28:19,20.
If you don't like what we preach, that's up to you but the truth is the truth and it's innaccurate to say that we are not Christian.
Once I had a Mormon come to my door (about five years ago) but otherwise, the only preacher ("Christian" or otherwise) at my doorstep has been me (and/or my spouse on my way OUT to do the preaching).

since they had Bibles in their hands but no "Jehovah's Witnesses Do it on Christmas Trees" or "Mormons Rock" T-Shirts I couldn't tell their denomination.
It was about 4 years ago, when i was living in a different area, but in that area it would happen about once every 6-9 months. In my new area it hasn't happened so far, but i live next door to a minister and down the road from a spiritualist center, perhaps they aren't aware of my atheist soul or don't think this particular post code needs saving.

"Do you have literature to hand out?" "In New York State handing out any literature or attempting to is soliciting and soliciting at a place with a no soliciting sign can result in a fine, I think the current fine is $1,500. I can take a check, cash, or you can never come back."

They have solicited me on the bus in both NYC and Orlando. Last time was in NYC two months ago. A guy had a problem with my wife and I holding hands, and decided to tell us about a group that could "help" us.
Also in Orlando, three years ago, I had lots of people try to solicit me at work. One went so far as to take down a lucky "computer keep working" charm I had above my desk and replace it with a tract against "the occult." (I'm Pagan.) We all got our own specialty tracts from this one. Others were nicer about it, but still quite firm about wanting to change me.
Bus and work aren't home, but they *are* rather hard to escape.

Well I recently moved to a place where people aren't as uppety about their religions. They keep them to themselves around here. But when I lived in a city a few months ago, we had a couple of guys come to our door repeatedly....trying to save my roommate. They kept asking me when he'd be back, and they would return. I almost called the cops to claim harrassment.....but I eventually moved out.
My roommate hung toy skeletons on the walls and crucified them, we had fake halloween blood on all the front windows, we hung our swords all over the living room walls, and there were skulls everywhere you look. I enjoyed living there. But these stupid guys kept coming over (I don't know if they were jehovah retards, or mormons). All I know is every time they came, they kept leaving pamphlets. I don't know if they ever gave up. I'd have to call him and ask him.

I beg to differ! I can't speak for the Mormons, but Jesus Christ is the head of our church, and to say we Jehovah's Witnesses aren't Christians is an insult.
Of course this is probably expected of you, so we'll let it slide.
But really there are nearly 7 million of us who will take issue. We dearly love Jesus and his father Jehovah!
Perhaps with your attitude, you should check your mirror.
