I have been dealing with depression and anxiety for years and have been on countless medications only to suffer side effects. I am wondering about the audio tapes by Lucinda Basset "Attacking Anxiety and Depreanssion". Do you have knowledge of these and would it be something you might recommend?

Thank you for any help.

I'll tell you what's in the package:
a set of audio CD's that are basically recordings of some sort of "group therapy" session. Hearing other people go into great detail about their fears and phobias can be disturbing or comforting, depending on how you feel.
There's a workbook that sort of coincides with the CD sessions; you write down your thoughts, feelings, etc. and supposedly this will get you to work through your internal problems.
You get a small "deck of cards" that offer you positive self affirmations (I can do it, I am fine, I feel great.)
I believe there's also a short DVD (or video) of Lucinda explaining her course. That's about it. I think the cost is around $300-500. There's no magic cure. There's nothing groundbreaking or unusual-- the course more or less says "It's all in your mind, get over it!"
Before buying the program, you could take a similar course online to see how you do with this type of program:

Since you've been dealing with this for years and drugs don't work, have you ever had your hormones checked? Imbalance can give you a huge range of symptoms like: constant heart palpitations, anxiety, feeling weak, bad mood swings with anxiety- anger-depression-fear, confusion, tearfulness, hair loss, digestive (IBS-type) problems, and phobias.

I personally dont agree with those things. Ive been there myslef and have gotten out of it. I too took medication but like you said the effects are horrible. Go to a Psychologist, if you are not already going to one. They can really do wonders for you which drugs cant do.
