Hmm for me, the whole passage of the vow can be summarized that i will love her as long as i live in all circumstances, even if she fail me (in terms of being unfaithful). easy say than done but marriage to me is always something worth longing for and making it a reality.

i know it hurts terribly if she fail me, but the bottomline is that the vow contains my solemn pledge to love her unconditionally and it doesn't matter if she doesn't keep it. else it isn't a true love from me.

peace to all its just my personal view.

Marriage vow for me is something that is so sacred that being unfaithful is a capital sin. Why? Because we are under a vow that we will love each other, cherish each other for better or for poorer, in sickness and in health. we vowed to the LOrd that we will serve, respect and understand each other,.

Love is the sweetest affection
inspired by the eyes,
spoken by the lips,
dedicated by the heart,
transmitted to the soul,
And proven at the altar.

Standing in front of God and saying your vows is a HUGE deal, and the vows should say true til death, but there are 2 deal breakers in my mind. If you hit me or my child .........or if you sleep with someone else.........If it's the other person who broke the vow, shame on them!! Take your pride and leave, you didn't do anything wrong...why should you have to suffer?

You are half right. It means that you promise to love and respet each other for all your lives. If the love OR the respect is lost then the vow is broken and the marriage is over.

It means you choose that person to share your life with, through all circumstance. That person will be your mate for the rest of your life together. That you will both work on keeping the relationship strong & keep communication lines open.

I take it very seriously - otherwise I'd be married already!

peace & best wishes!

Well I personally think thats a little warped.... The vows read in sickness and health, rich or poor, and staying faithful. If she cheats she has already dishonored those vows and you should not be held to them

a marriage vow is saying that you will be with this girl/boy 4ever in your life and there is no turning back in your vow

The wedding and the vows are only as good as the people taking them. I took mine seriously, he didn't and look at me now. Single, not trusting...........
