Hi there...human eye drops contain ingredients which can cause blindness in cats. It's best to have your cat evaluated by a veterinarian and treated with antibiotics.
Would you be able to borrow some money from family or friends...perhaps use a credit card? This truly is very critical if it's very bad as this could lead to blindness if not treated soon.

The warm cloth won't hurt the cats eye, but DO NOT use anything made for a human on your cat.
Conjuncitivitis or Pink Eye needs to be treated by a Vet.
Try calling your Vet and explaining that your cat is sick and you're low on money right now, most Vets will set up a payment plan for you...if that fails call your local humane society or ASPCA, they can usually provide low cost Vet care.
Good luck, I hope kitty feels better soon.

It shouldn't be too expensive to have this treated by your vet. The warm cloth won't hurt anything. The comment about the gland mentioned above is rubbish. Do not use human OTC products. Don't spray silver or anything on the eyeball. The vet just needs to determine if the eye has an ulcer on the cornea or not. Then an appropriate ointment can be prescribed. I'd be surprised if the total vet bill exceeded $50 for this. Just explain to the vet how much you have to spend and ask if he can help. If you have a relationship with a vet already, he might be able to prescribe you something to get by with until you can afford to see him.

I wouldn't use eye drops not prescribed by your vet, they could do more harm than good, how about bathing your cats eyes with seperate cotton wool balls soaked in a weak saline solution and wiped once over the eyes to keep them clean, is there a vet in your area connected to an animal charity that can offer reduced payments or free vet care that you can use [P.D.S.A. in the uk or Blue Cross]

Do not use human eye drops. She'll need to see the vet to get eye drops specifically made for animals. Until then call the doctor and see what they recommend for you to do. Self medicating can cause more harm than good.

Its not pink eye.. cats dont get that.. Its a glaud in the cats eye that pops out.. it needs meds.. you have to take it to the vet.... if you dont she could need surgery to remove it... or worst she could lose the eye.. do you want that? Find the money and do the right thing>>>

Don't use the eyedrops, but a warm cloth should ease the irritation until you can go to the vet...
