"We live by grace not by the law". Thats what my mom always said, and it's been true ever since Jesus gave his life for us. We didn't deserve it, we can't earn it, and we aren't any better then anyone else because of it. Jesus decided to save the world, not condemn it. As christians always strive to be like Christ, we should neither condemn ourselves. This doesn't mean that there aren't consequences, it just means that we shouldn't feel guilty. As self punishment is a result of guilt, erase the guilt, and the punishing will end. As we grow closer to God, we grow farther from the flesh. Recieving advice isn't a bad thing either, and going to a person who understands, such as a youth pastor, is a good thing.
Hope this helped
God bless you.

The Bible does not discuss masturbation at all. This seems a little odd since it is such a strong and prevalent human event. And, given that Leviticus has so much to say about sexuality, one would think it natural that the subject would be covered. But it isn't. Masturbation is not specifically declared to be sinful. Nevertheless, we must be cautious to pronounce something to be sinful or not sinful when God has not discussed it. Therefore, we have to derive principles from scripture on related sexual issues and see if we can wisely apply them to the subject of masturbation.

Mm mm . . .
Some Christians would say he is wrong to masturbate . . . I do not know if he is wrong . . . but I'm sure he is normal!

But . . . if he's doing this several times a day . . . I mean - A LOT . . . this could be an indication of a different situation.

Compulsive ANYTHING can be a signal that something is wrong.

There is a good chance you youth pastor is the 'right' person. (as long as this person doesn't abuse children . . . you have to think that now-a-days . . . right?)

Let your friend know that he is not doing a bad thing so please stop punishing himself. God made our bodies in a certain way, and giving ourselves pleasure is not a sin. Let him know that God loves him unconditionally, if he thinks that he masturbates too much, he should set aside a special and private time during the day that he gives himself pleasure, until he finds himself a good wife.

Yeah, he needs a lot of help.

Masturbating is not only a bad habit but it has adverse affects on a person. This does is a temporary relief from usually stressful situations. This of course can turn into a habit. Like some eating disorders, when a person is under stress they eat without to satisfy themselves.

First he need to read in the bible that his action is unclean.
second he needs to speak to parents or elders in his congregation.
third, instead of water more prayer.
fourth, he many need to seek professional mental help.

Usually a male will grow out of that habit. But it can continue, and this can cause more problems in future relationships. So a lot is to be considered about that habit.

Tell him that he is subject to a weakness beyond his control at the moment.

God does not hold it against us if we truly cannot help something.

Tell him that God wills to heal him in the long run.

What he is doing is the result of underlying psychological issues that need to be healed and will be healed in the long run.

Punishing himself with scalding water???? That's just sick. He has a problem! He should not be punishing himself for doing something that is completely natural. Yet another reason not to listen to organized religion!

In the first place, masturbation is not a sin. tell your friend not to kill him self with worries. it is one of the stages some one has to pass through to man hood. others are more man than others. your friend can have a big urge for sex. he should not worry. let him masturbate one day it will end. it is better to masturbate than commit sin of fornication.

Scolding hot water?!!
Does the youth pastor know that? Maybe you should tell him.

PS: You want to spell it “know” not “no” – they have two different meanings. :)
