She watches TV most of the time, but i am afraid This will spoil her eyes, she has no friends as there are no children nearby to play with her, What should she do? Can someone suggest activities which a 6 year old will enjoy doing.

I agree- a 6 yr old has no business being at home alone while you're working. Especially with all the crazy things happening out in the world. She should have a sitter to keep her company. If you're against hiring a sitter--> Is there a Boys & Girls club or after school program she can get involved in?

When I was younger, I enjoyed arts and crafts- beading, thread bracelets, painting.. Talk to her and see if she'd be interested in any of those things before you bring them home for her to try. Introduce her to reading to try to let her stray from the TV. Maybe thats something she'll enjoy

Communicate with your child to see what interests her. Our suggestions will get you no where if you're child isnt interested in any. I know, too, that if I were alone for a while, I'd be bored especially with no one to talk to.

not only is TV bad for the eyes but it does not promote healthy excercise habits,as a six year old she should be given lots of opportunities to run around and burn off energy.
Is she with a babysitter? Or do you work from home? If she is with a sitter you need to FIRE HER any good babysitter would be providing games and activities for her to keep her busy stimulated and occupied. NO babysitter worth her salt would let your child sit in front of a tv all day.You can make play doh for her and provide lots of cookie cutters, buy some cheap paints and sheets of paper to draw and paint on, toy libraries still operate in most states just go to your local library and while you are there get her some books to read. You can also print off lots of paper dolls help her to cut them out these gave my daughters lots of pleasure when they were little.

Well I'm hoping that one of you are there with her while the other is at work. I have a activity tote it has all kinds of activities that I do with the kids. Construction paper, glue, glitter, coloring books crayons, foam I have long paper and I hang it on the wall and let them draw on it.I don't think that she needs friends in the neighborhood you need to take the time to entertain her and teach her how to do other things than sit in front of a t.v. Try sports and the YMCA.She's 6 ain't she in school? Get her educational workbooks that are fun!!!

Doesn't she have a baby sitter while you're at work? This person should be playing games with her, putting puzzles together, counting, playing matching games, reading, playing "make believe" With the proper care giver your child should rarely be bored!

I'm assuming she is in school most of the day so when she gets home, she is bored. At that age, she needs to learn how to entertain herself. Have you tried to set up playdates for her after school?

Yeah, have the sitter take her somewhere, after all you are not paying them just to sit on their butt. Have the sitter take her to Chuckee Cheese or something, or the park.

She needs to be supervised at all times and this person should be able to provide her with activities when she is in their care.
