What is Communication 3?

I saw it as an entry requirement for a college course, but I've never heard of it before!

Most likely it is another course offered at the college that you must have completed before you can take the course you are looking at. Communications is a common college course subject - the "3" probably means the 3d level of this subject. I bet if you look at the other courses offered, you will find it.
