Im getting married in september and I dont really have any close friends either. He thought up the idea of not having a wedding party at all if I didnt want to. You dont have to have one you know once I thought about it. Its all about you and your husband getting married, Its not about wether you have bridesmaids and groomsmen or not. Or if you do chose to have some let your husband chose one person then you can chose a close relative if you have one. I f you dont just stick to being simple. just invite everyone you want and have a wedding without a bridal party. His close friends wouldnt be hurt because there is not a bridal party at all, and they still get invited to your wedding celebration without the hassle of rehersals and all of the craziness. Dont worry about all the other minor stuff, Its all about celerating your love for each other by becoming one spirit under God, dont sweat the small stuff. Good Luck and congratulations!

I think having your family in your wedding is the best! Friends may come and go, but your family is for life. I regret not having my sisters in my wedding. I was young and felt closer to my best friends, but we haven't really stayed in touch. When my kids look at our wedding pictures they don't know who some of the people are in our wedding. If you don't have siblings then maybe cousins that are close. Good Luck!

Having your family participate in your wedding is a good idea. Or you could have them share just by witnessing the event.

Really, when it comes right down to it, all you need for a wedding is a bride , groom & someone legal to perform the ceremony.

Don't do the coworker thing- like suggested above. That just puts unwanted pressure on your co-workers (they are not your friends) and makes work harder.

If you have any family or he has any family or is he friends with any girls?? My fiance doesn't have a lot of guy friends so my brother and my best friend Jon from high school are going to be on his side. And he ask his brother in law.

Also you don't have to have bridemaids if you don't want!!

the most important people in a wedding party are the bride and groom! you don't need a large wedding party, that's not what its all about. Each of you pick your closest friend or relative to be the witnesses. You'll also have a less stressful wedding!!

I was in the same boat and chose all family members. I did my two sisters and my sister-in-law. My husband made his dad his best man. There's no rule that you can't involve your close family members. I thought about making my mom my matron of honor.
