Tell him, "Son, you mean, 'Why do liberals hate Jesus?'" And teach him the importance of singular-plural agreement.

Wow, your son uses a term like "liberals"?

This question bothers me. It's a bit loaded, don't you think? I mean, I'm tempted to defend liberals. I guess it's because sweeping generalizations bother me. And the term liberal is so vague. Do you mean political liberals or religious liberals. If you're talking politics then that's another story all together. I'm going to zero in on religious liberal since that's the topic under which you have placed your question.

I'm guessing you're conservative, but I don't know how conservative you are (another problem). You must see it as black and white, but I think of the views as a continuum. The basis for me is a belief that Christ's sacrifice was enough to save those that realize it. The rest is mostly choice of how to worship God.

So, to answer your question, I would say, "Son, if someone believes that Jesus died to repair the broken relationship with God, damaged by Adam, then they are his. Even though they practice telling him His worth a little different than us."

A political/life perspective does not define a relationship or feelings toward Jesus Christ. If you love Jesus Christ then you love Him by your actions and your direction He leads you. To love Jesus in His Words is to keep His commandments. It is to love everyone as yourself, be a Christian in words and deeds, to do the Great Commission, to feed and take care of the poor, the fatherless and the widows; to love your neighbor......

I could go on but it does not define a liberal or conservative prospective. Those views you raise is from a person going around labeling a person. Even you have named yourself as a conservative. Just because u have a different life perspective does not mean someone who approaches something differently from you mean they don't love Jesus. Think of the Samaritan doing something differently than a Jewish person did it. We as Christians are members of one body. Everybody can't be a hand, foot and the like. We all have different functions in the Body but our Head is Jesus Christ.

Tell Him that.

Tell him that liberals love Jesus just as much as anyone else. Don't teach him to be prejudiced. People have different opinions but have a right to be respected. PS: Your questions should read: Why do liberals.....not why does liberals.
Liberals is the plural subject of the sentence & it requires a plural verb which is 'do' not 'does.' Does is a singular verb.

Tell him he's wrong. Liberals don't hate Jesus any more than they hate Cleopatra, John Stuart Mill or Thomas Jefferson. They're dead. Hating the living is a waste of energy, hating a dead guy is just mean and pointless. Hope this helps your son.

You can tell him what Jesus said, He (Jesus) is no part of the world. Since Jesus is actually a King in heaven, he of course would have his own citizens and so on. So really the answer is Jesus probably would just dismiss any remarks towards him. If they are in opposition to the Bibles laws, regulations, and principles, well Jesus Father, Almighty God will be at war with them very soon.

I would tell your son, that "hate", is a word that should be used not very often. How can you truthfully answer why anyone would hate Jesus? Just say that those people don't really know Him but that Jesus loves all people.

Liberals don't hate Jesus. In many ways, their ideology is more in line with Jesus's in that they are not in favor of wealth. Jesus once told a man to give away his riches if he wanted to get into heaven.

Hate is an emotion that we are all capable of.
Hate is a Fear based emotion, it comes from being closed minded, and guarded. It also stems from fear of the unknown, when we find out about those who do not know Jesus, it makes us sad, but we have the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit working on our side, teach your son not to look down on others, teach him the power of prayer and pray for those who do not know Jesus on a personal level, and pray for the Holy Spirit to begin working in their lives.

That we don't. As a liberal and a Christian, I'm sick to death of this stupid myth that the far right and neo-conservatives have perpetuated. Liberals have respect for other religions besides Christianity and we want to preserve the separation of Church and State, but that does not mean that those ideas don't lie cheek and jowl with our own faith every day.

Jesus stood for tolerance, love and understanding. It amazes me how some conservatives can fight so hard for intolerance, hatred and bigotry and then claim their Christian faith tells them to do so. Jesus would want you to teach your son to respect all people equally and to dispel the kinds of myths like the one your question asks about.
