We have had a female cat for three years now, she has not been operated since we would like her to have kittens once.She has been in heat for four days now, and has started peeing on the carpets or any piece of fabric she finds on the floor.Is there something we can do about this? Is she sick?

Hi there...unspayed females will urine spray while in heat to mark territory to let male cats she is receptive to being mated. In all honesty, the only way to resolve the inappropriate urinating is to have her spayed. Additionally, there's a slight possibility she may have a lower urinary tract disorder as well.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. Your cat is trying her best to attract a male. The only way to get her to stop without wasting your money on pet store answers ie.. no go spray, and other costly non use-full items, is to go ahead and mate your cat have your kittens and get her fixed. If not your in for a long stinky ride.

Why do you want her to have kittens when hundreds of cute, cuddly kittens are put to death every week at your local pound? You like adding to the problem? You want your kids to see the miracle of birth? You think it does something good to your cat? Get an education! Go visit your animal shelter...see for yourself. Of course her peeing is due to being in heat....duh! Cats are seasonally polyestrus...which means she will come in heat once a month in certain seasons of the year. Heat will last 9-10 days. I think your poor kitty needs a new owner.

All female cats do that if they are not fixed get her pregnant soon and than get her fixed it is the only way to stop it. Mine was doing it all the time she had her litter and she is fine now

It could mean alot of things jealous, or has a bladder infection I would talk to a vet to make sure it's not a medical issue.

this happened to me.. my cat would go in spurts of around 2 solid weeks or this behavior. then maybe a month later do it again. if she is not fixed.. you may want to consider it.

Other than the need for spaying, she might have a kidney stone.

She might have a urinary tract infection.
