Very simply put.. he's a boy (w/ a very proud smile)! No one will take offense to that... it's a given that many babies will be confused for boy or girl. What I find funny is that the child could be wearing gender- related colors & STILL be confused. I have a 2 year old boy can't mistake him now but when he was just a few months old, a few people confused him for a girl. I look at them in a weird way... uh, he's wearing boy shorts w/ a basketball on his shirt, and a boy's hat, in a huge, BLUE & gray stroller, and boy sneakers... please explain how you confused my son for a girl...

people sometimes just really aren't paying attention... I think it's happened to every mother at some point in time...

Yes, it happens all the time with my 5 year old.

He has long curly hair too, and people are always confusing him for a girl.. although I don't know why, he does not even remotely look feminine.
Usually, if they say "oh, she's so cute".. I will respond by saying " yea, i thnk HE'S cute too.."

Good Luck!

No worries, people think what they want to. Sometimes is has nothing to do with the looks of the kid at all. When my daughter was about 4 months old, she was sitting in her light purple stroller wearing a pink outfit and someone came up to me and said what an adorable little boy I had. It doesn't really matter what other people think after all anyway.

I had that with my last born son. They'd say something to the effect of what a pretty little girl. He had golden blonde hair and brown eyes.
So with a gracious smile on my face I would reply, yes I agree if only he weren't a boy. So they'd you know blush a little and come back with oh what an adorable little boy. Be gracious

~I had a big baby and I heard it from everyone! It annoyed me, but it really meant that they thought my baby was healthy. They always called her a boy, even though she was dressed in pink.

She didn't have a lot of hair either. I told them it was a girl in the beginning, but they felt bad, so I just let them think it was a boy.

You could have your sons hair cut if you're really worried about it.
Good luck.~

Apparently, from what my mother tells me, this would happen to me. When I was a baby, people would think that I was a girl. I would start by dressing him in boy clothes, something with like a sail boat or something. Then when they ask what his (or her, if they still think he's a boy) name is, tell them his name is *insert name here*, and hopefully, if they are not stupid, they'll pick up on the "his" and his name.

Depending on what the person said ,i would just say thankyou and get over it....If you really want to set them straight i would say "Yes, HE is a darling isn't he! Just nod and smile , does it annoy you that much to make a scene in front of an old person?Cos they are the ones that usually say it Good Luck either way!

these little boys i babysit have very long (BEAUTIFUL) blonde hair. theyre 4 and 2. people walk up to us from across the street to tell me how cute the girls are. when people are presumptious like that im more than happy to tell them point blank that theyre both boys.

but if i have the chance for the first word, i make sure to slip in a "he" or "him" somewhere. or use his name.

Dont be to concerned about it .If it really bothers you then make sure he is wearing "boy" clothes all the time when you go out . Such as all blue an shorts etc. At this age it is really hard to tell the difference anyway. If they ask your what her Name is , tell them HIS name is ...... That should give them the message.

Nope. My son is 9 months old and everyone takes one look at him and asks if he's a boy.
