And what would you do to keep people from looting? Shoot them? Or let them go? What do you propose a soldier under orders do in order to prevent rampant lawlessness? Take the wood back? Would that deter others who also take the risk of breaking the law in order to procure supplies they need? This question is tougher than it looks on the surface. What is your solution? Imprisonment? This just proves the adage "war is hell." There is no good solution; it is a bad situation on both sides, and both did what they had to do. The fact of war makes it impossible for the situation to come out well. No matter what the soldier does, it will go badly, just, perhaps, in a different way that could end up being even more inhumane.

Might not be entirely fair but I wonder how do you expect order to be restored if there is nothing done about the most basic crimes such as looting. They might not have gone about it in the best way possible but the idea that the guy is some sort of victim is silly. Wasn't he stealing? Was that the only thing he was planning on stealing or was that just when he got caught? If nothing else it's a fine demonstration of what 60 tons of steel will do.

This is from a TV program. IT is not a true incident and if it were, the men would already be in shackles awaiting a trial. YOU are not very intelligent young'un. GET your head screwed on. There are young men and women over there dieing each and every day because they are ordered to be there. YOU are a disgraceful, shame of a human. Sit down and ask GOD for HIS forgiveness. are you proud of blowing up buildings, killing children, and even breaking the five laws of a jihad according to the the koran
1. Never destroy a building
2. Never destroy a tree with a green leaf on it
3. Never kill a woman
4. Never kill a child
5. Never kill a soldier that has lain down his weapon
and as for the "proud European" above me... at least we can keep from ravaging a city and destroying everything in our path after a soccer game...

I only watched the part as they crushed the Looter's car.. in most places the Looters would have been killed and the car untouched.

I have not been happy with many of the things our government has done. I am not happy with some the current applications of our military power. I am not happy about paying taxes for it either.
The worst part of all is that when our government or our military do bad things many people from other countries believe all Americans are bad. That is the part that makes me dislike Bush the most

I am proud of the American soldiers and pray for them every day. They are the best and brightest that America has to offer. On occasion there are a few bad people just like anywhere else. As a group, from a character and quality perspective I would put American soldiers up to any soldiers in the world for comparison.
