I think it the answer is 58 chickens. Roosters, hens, and chicks are all chickens. So for a total of 9 coins, you can buy 5 chickens. You can buy 11 sets of 9 coins, so for 99 coins you get 55 chickens. With the remaining coin you can buy 3 more chicks. 58 total if you want equal distribution.
If you want to maximize your purchase, just buy 300 chicks for 100 coins.
