While dring my 1989 Chevy Blazer I heard a pop under the dash and the engine died. I discovered that a fuse had blown in the ECMB slot in the fuse box. I tried to replace the fuse but it blew before I could push it all the way into the slot. What is the ECMB? Where is it located? Is it In the engine compartment. I had washed the engine bay out about an hour before. Could that have caused my problem?

I am trying to fix this thing myself to avoid the high cost of rip-off by a mechanic.

Sounds like the engine control computer. Yeah, you probably got something wet. When you wash out an engine bay you need to protect all of the electronics from water.

First try drying out the electronics in the engine, then try replacing the fuse again. If it still blows then you have to take to a mechanic. as you may have damaged the electronic control module that runs the engine.
