I am going to this winter dance, and the theme is Mardi Gras... I am not sure what to wear, and also I am a bit over weight. Do any of you have any ideas of dresses that would go well with the theme and with my size? Thank you!

Queen of hearts? Joker? Whatever the costume, don't forget the mask and the beads! The main colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green and gold. Lots of feathers, sequins and/or glitter. Robes (not as in BATH) are popular and also help to camoflague a weight issue. Be creative, visit some sites on the web to get more ideas and most of all, have fun w/it! With Mardi Gras, pretty much anything goes!

You don't have to go with the theme, but since you want to...... I would go with an elsastic mask so you don't have to hold it up the night or while you dance. Other accesories could include rhinestones or glitter for your hair. A few nice med. length necklaces, and maybe some bauble type rings and earrings. I would purchase a simple soild colored dress. Short dresses were hip at my prom last year, so maybe go with a short-med style and ditch the long formal looking gown. Remeber it is your prom and you don't have to follow the theme and look like your going to costume party. Our theme was Arabian Nights my Junior Year and Indianna Jones my Senior. You can bet I did not show up in hat and boots. :)

Corset style top with fishnet stockings. I am sure you can find something flattering :) Lots of sequins and feathers! Mardi Gras is easy! Bright and sparkly! Good Luck :)

From a true Orleanian, go with something sexy, andsleak. You have the corset top,witha very straight bottom, dont wanna do to puffy. try taking a bead of what ever color your gown is going to be, try one of these:green, purple, or gold, for whatever color , accentuate it with a different color with in the three.ex: gold dress, purple bead, and if you can find a feathered mask..aka..domino, which is an old term for tht, i think u'd look stunning

oh note: these days if you dont want to you dont have to get the really sinched corset, their are plenty designs made to immitate the corset,o r have the corset look.....this is soooo fun i wish i were involved....LOl....do an up due.....hairstyle tht is

A big dark blue dress so all eyes are on you!!! also a mask wouldnt be too much your gonna look hot!!!!
