Babys only have to have a funeral after 24 weeks. They also need a death certifcate. Before that then i think it depends on mother and hospital. Babys miscarried early on when their is no visible baby the hospital do keep. Sometimes for test. I have heard they do get put in a special place to be gotten rid off (i could not think of a more sensitive way of putting it) sorry

Medical waste. It's destroyed or otherwise disposed of, not kept, unless past a certain age and the parent requests funeral arrangements.

Occasionally, the tissue will be kept temporarily in order to run tests to see what caused it. (Also generally at parent's request or on doctor's orders.) With viable pregnancies they will keep the tissue for (I believe) 2-3 weeks in order to give the parents time to think about their options.

I am not trying to be disgusting but the parts are worth ALLOT. Why do you think that partial birth abortions are used. The abortion practitioner makes a "killing". You don't actually think that they use a procedure that has such a high risk to the mother because they are concerned for her health?
As far as why hospitals keep stillborn babies it is conjecture on my part but it makes the most sense.
