I get 24 paid sick days a year, or two a month. These days can be banked, so if a doctor determined that I had to stay at home for two weeks, provided I had enough sick days saved, I would be paid for the lost time.

This is a little better than the average in my area, but not by much.

I don't work now, but I did 2 years ago. I didn't get any paid sick days. I had 6 excused days per year, but they weren't paid. The only way to get any money, was to go on temporary disability. Then, if you were off longer than 3 months for an illness or injury, you either had to go on permanent disability or lose your job. If you had a sick kid, forget about it. They were "family" and "employee" oriented - they said. I would hate to see if they weren't. The only reason people stay there is because the pay is great. Just don't get sick, and you're fine.

5 sick days per year and some short term disability (Physician authorized only). I'd say your 24 days is well above the national average.

get as many sick days are needed...with pay. being in the military has its benefits. but only the doc can put a Soldier on quarters. and it's up to him/her how long they feel it will take you to get well. Can't complain...
