I am a similar age to you and now married with a child and a mortgage. Although I love my life I do sometimes look back and wish I had made more of my single time without so many responsibilities.
Go and enjoy it whilst you can. You won't regret it.

One thing you must remember, wherever you go you are taking yourself with you, i.e. the problems won't get solved and what makes you sad might not evaporate. On the other hand as an avid traveler I think traveling is a great option. I do not know how old you are and I presume you are a female? Try, first of all to decide where you want to go most of all, then buy a book or search the net (I love doing that) and get all the info. When you
have this info, look at your bank account and decide how you want to proceed i.e. cheap flights? Cheap accommodations? Work and travel? There are probably hundreds of sites
for travelers that people give advice and might even travel with you. I really do not know how else I can give you advice as you wrote so very little about yourself. Renting your apartment is the last worry. Go and enjoy your life, we live only once.

I went to a kibbutz in Israel and worked (possibly) illegally in Te Aviv, Jerusalem meant that the whole trip cost me £250 and I lived abroad for 6 months. It was ace, the hard bit was settling when I came back, you really need some advice on that bit of the deal.
