Doing a kids fun day at uni and doing a thing about celebrities - need some ideas of famous people who fairly young kids (11-15) would know, but cant think of many. Tried looking on websites for unis but no avail.

Every member of Cheap Trick. But then most young kids would be pretty clueless as to who CT is. Best example I could come up with at the moment. I'm certain there are many for the next generation to celebrate.

Go to imdb.com and enter it in in one of the search fields. That should come up with a lot.
Some actors like to say they've been to college when they've only studied a semester, if that. I think Christina Ricci went to one of the Ivy League schools, they should be familiar with her maybe? Or maybe some kids who are in college now but are still acting?

I'm afraid i only know older ones... and English... John Cleese, Stephen Fry, Rowan Atkinson.... generally comedians are pretty smart... you'll find a lot of them went to uni and did really well before they became famous...
