I'm an engineer and thinking about getting a MBA. Is it worth it?

My friends tell me that in general a MBA is not worth the price (tuition + leave from work). Others have said that in the engineering field the MBA holds little respect. And, most people tell me that it's only worth it when you go to a top level school. What do you think?

Finally I think it is also important what you do in your MBA; how good your grades are, choosing the right concentrations, and networking with classmates and alumni. All of these will ultimately have an impact on whether your MBA will make a difference.
