When you open the door on a fridge you let in air. This air contains moisture and most fridges are designed to allow this water to condense on the rear wall where it is ducted out through a small tube to a tray above the fridge motor. The heat from this motor then evaporates the moisture back into the atmosphere.
Often what happens is that the small tube that takes this water out to the tray becomes filled with gunge and this means that the water then overflows into the fridge instead. You just need to clean the gunge out (with a pipe cleaner) and all should work again, though you may have to repeat this occasionally.
Hope this helps

Your fridge is equipped with a drain hose that runs from your freezer to a bottom pan under your fridge. Sometimes this tube plugs up and needs cleaning, or maybe it has slipped off of the drain hole. Pull your fridge away from the wall, look at the back on the bottom. You should see a pan close to the floor. If it is dry and dusty, the water that usually drains there and then evaporates isn't getting to the pan. On the back wall of the inside of your fridge, there should be a small funnel shape where the freezer water drips into. Use a long pipe cleaner or small bottle brush to ream out this tube, both top and bottom. Pour a bit of hot water into it from the top and watch to see if it drains out the bottom. This should fix the problem.

I found out at the weekend that I have the same problem, and I have a little drain hole at the back off the fridge, so on the way home I am going to get some pipe cleaners and give it a clear out.
Thanks for asking the question!

You need a new thermostate in there, or the seals on your fridge are not sealing it properly causing it to freeze up in side blocking the drainage hole and water is then filling up at the bottom of your fridge,,,.. i would go for the new seals..

If these other answers don't fit the bill here
and you have an icemaker in your fridge
there is a strong possibility that the water line to your ice maker is leaking (this usually happens AT the fittings and is not THAT big of a deal to get fixed) ---- just a slight-- one drop every couple of minutes can add up to major water accumulation in just a few hours !!!!

There should be a drainage pipe at the back of the fridge to drain off this water. It must be blocked. It's usually easy to repair.

turn the fridge setting up higher - if you have a freezer compartment and the temp is not cold enough then the melt water will make its way to the bottom ledge
