When is the last time you EVER heard the term "All American" used by the media to mean anyone but a white guy or girl? How about " She was the girl next door..." Has anyone seen a person of color shown after these phrases are uttered?

I used to get upset about racism but I hear about it everyday and even when I decide to Yahoo! a bit. So I've grown used to it and after a while you just ignore it.
You are going to just tire yourself out with getting upset. So what if the term "girl next door" isn't used especially for non-whites? It's not the end of the world. What does it matter if it is used or isn't?

i do no longer choose to single out white human beings. i think of many everybody is blind to racism while it particularly is not happening to them. in simple terms seem at a number of those questions and solutions in this section. Everyone is racist. Secretly and deep down, they are. All these white liberals that fight for minorities, do you see them living in the ghetto? No, they live in a gated all white community and they send their children to private school. Why cant the media just understand that generally people like to be around their own kind? The only time when racism becomes a problem is when they try to shove us all together and have us be all harmonious and love each other.
Also, why the double standard? Why are black people allowed to continually make fun of white people yet if a white person says ONE little derogatory thing about black people they are pretty much burned at the stake?
Why is it considered racist to want to keep illegals out of America?
It all doesn't make sense. Just let people live with their own kind. Stop trying to push all this multicultural hogwash down everyones throats.

Why do people hate rats so much ?, they are just cute cuddly furry little creatures trying to get by in life like everyone else. And what about all the hype with maggots ? they are lovable baby's soon to grow into adult fly's. I happen to think it's so totally detestable that people kill malaria infested mosquitoes simply because they don't like them. It's a travesty I tell ya !. I say do away with people in general. Yes, All of them. People are an infestation of this great planet we call earth !

The hidden racism you mention is more noticeable in the so called liberal states, in my experience. They are all so busy proving that we are equal that they can't see their own bigotry.
"It's all right if you are almost equal to me, almost as good."
What bigotry is here in Texas is more out in the open where you can deal with it. But there is also a lot less of it because people here are more likely to let each other go their own way without judging. I think there always be bigotry to some degree because there always will be ignorance. But it is far better than when I was growing up in California.

when was the last time you saw a white person selling crack, or on the news killing each other, or taking over welfare, or overcrowding the prisons by over 50% of general population,when they only make up 35% of or whole population to begin with,when was the last time you heard a black person call a white person a cracker,whitey, honky,, now when was the last time you heard a black person refer to each other in a racial overtone calling each other ni gg ers, now tell me when you heard a white person calling each other crackers, we dont, if a black person gets punished for a crime its profiling, if a white gets punished for that crime its called justice, a black man gets the loan, because he is the minority, the white man dont, so i have no pity on those all american heros, and by the way the term would be called all african american, lets be politically correct, look around and open your eyes, there are great black americans and there are terrible white americans, they make it hard for me to open up my mind and generalize them as wonderful people, and great americans, when they have been the dominant leader in drugs,looting aftr a disaster, crime, clogging the welfare system , theft, murder, turn on the news, blacks are self distructing, and need to make a change, otherwise racism will never die,

You're right about those phrases. But I don't hear them used very often about anyone anymore. You're also right about the blindness to racism. It's more devious and underground now, but it's still there.

We've grown up with our ragdoll and now don't want to let it go.
Everyone is prejudiced. It's a matter of looking past that shield of judgement and seeing the perspective in front.
