The Patriots always try to find a way to win and shut down the other team. That is what makes it so hard to beat them, they don't play to their own strength, they adjust to others weaknesses. What they did last game against Indy and last week against SD will have nothing to do with their game plan this week, that makes it difficult to plan against.

Indy on the other hand has been overemphasizing the run defense the past two weeks because everyone seemed to think that was an easy way to beat them (as everyone was doing at the end of the year). This may play into Belichick's hand and he may go heavy on the pass, as the Colts' opponents have theoretically "established the run" even before the game starts. Indy's achilles heel on offense is "Peyton in the playoffs" especially against the Patriots - Belichick knows that early failure can weigh heavily on Manning and may try some risky defensive sets to force a turnover. He doesn't have to worry as much about falling behind, the Patriots don't lose their confidence based on what they have overcome in many big games the past 5 years.

Another big + for the Patriots is that Belichick is careful to wait out for the other team to make a mistake or put points up with high risk offenses in low risk situations (the last two minutes of each half). Dungy ,on the other hand, knows he need to pull away early from the Patriots to gain the confidence his team needs, he doesn't want to leave them hanging around waiting for some low hanging fruit. A high tempo team trying to force a low tempo team into "their game" will be the key to victory, or loss.

As a Pats fan I want my team to win, but Manning is an impressive QB and he gets to play a home this time in the playoffs agains his nemesis. We will have to wait til Sunday to see hiow tht works out for him. Their D is still just average and i expect the Pats to be able to move the ball. In the 27-20 win over NE on 11/5, the Pats had 5 turnovers yet still lost by only 7. That could be a problem for the Colts. I say NE 27 Colts 21

New England. Belicheck has Mannings number. However, if Indys defense continues to play like it has, NE better watch out. It will probably come down to a defensive or Special Teams Return.

NE-24
IND-17

if indy's defense shuts everything down in its path like it has the past two weeks, then i don't see new england getting lucky like they always seem to do. its not going to come down to peyton or brady, it will probably be a defensive game. its going to be close though, it will probably come down to a vinateri field goal and indy wins.
