i have been to the doctors and been told i have strep throat and have been given an antibiotic, he said i would be fine to go into work, but is this right, do you not have to take a couple of days for the antibiotic to work and is it no contagious?

I came home from drs anyway and decided just to take 2 days off, to let the antibiotics work. I think what happened was just before Christmas i took really bad with the flu, but as it was so busy in work (university) i couldnt stay home, so basically i think i have not rested properly and thats why i have ended up with this!

Yes you are right. My one son, who was prone to getting strep, was always off a couple of days for the antibiotic to take effect. If you have to go, just be careful not to cough, sneeze, etc. around people. Get well soon.

It is only contagious if you cough on someone. I've Had strep throat before.

no, its not contagious, antibiotic does usually take rest for it to work, depending on how stressful your job is, i'd recommend staying home

As long as you are feeling OK you should be fine to go to work as far as I know it's not contagious.

kids sure dont go to school if they have strep,dont know why you had to go to work.Sorry
