No, I like what I do now, I would not want to go backpacking and risk my life, I like life too much for that, it is ok, though, if you are an outdoor person. I am not knocking it at all, I just would not do it.

If you meet the people you're taught to hate, it's harder to hate them once you do.

And most importantly they deliberately isolate themselves and the US citizens from contact with those in other countries and ideologies, and discourage the US citizens from travelling. If you meet the people you're taught to hate, it's harder to hate them once you do.
