You're confusing chavs with yobs. Chavs just like to dress 'a bit flash'.

It maybe an over generalisation to tar them all with the same label. I don't know whether they all have attitude problems, and doubt that all chavs want to mug the elderly.

Having said that, I personally find the chav image quite intimidating. It's very 'in your face' and quite a harsh look, not very becoming in my humble opinion. I do feel quite intimidated if I'm out alone and I find myself faced with thirty of them en mass. I don't know why!

I agree with Button Moon's point about individuality though. I'm 22 and ten years ago, a lot more people were more individualistic in the way they dressed.

not all chavs have an attitude problem, it's a label that society has put on them. you can't generalise it to all the chavs. as for the older people being scared of them, these chavs can be a little intimidating when they are walking around in big groups, but there not all bad!

Yes their little sh*ts, but they add for great entertainment on a friday night walk home from the pub with your mates, We play a game(when totally mortal), what you do is take turns on the different sets of chavs you pass at running into them and seeing how many you can knock over(like skittles). Not only do we save on taxi fair, but we do our bit for society in ridding the streets of chavs.

It's just the latest fashion sense for some teenagers. chav will go and there will be something else ( i hope) but teenagers will always be here.
Old people and teenagers will never mix or understand each other they are poles apart. Some teenagers can frighten old people sometimes on purpose but like all walks of life you get good and bad.

Groups of kids being accused of terrorising the streets is nothing new.

Ever heard of Mods and Rockers? Same thing, just they were wearing different clobber and it was 40 years ago.

Oh my gosh, could someone please explain to me what a Chav is? I know Emo, Goth, HXC, but not Chav. Maybe it hasn't started over here in the NW?
