so 1 guy got off easy, and he happened to be white, big whoop. I don't understand why you are complaining about the pizza incident, 3 strikes is 3 strikes it's the law. He recieved the punishment any white, black, hispanic, or asian man would have.

Let's first look at what really happened with the Black man for stealing pizza. His previous felonies were for robbery, attempted robbery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. So he was hardly an innocent man.
He was convicted via a jury trail.
Also, he may have been sentenced 25 years, but he was out in 3, and it was only that long because he was a repeat offender.
The "Child rapist" on the other hand, might not have even done it. It was pled out. It is unfortunate that the guilt sometimes go free when they should not, but the plea system is standard in modern penal law in all developed countries. Better to make sure criminals get help, than to have long drawn out trails, where they might get off completely.

You say the USA but we are 50 United States and each state has a right to make different Laws. Not all states have a 3 strike rule. It is poor to make a statement like this as all citizens are tried by the courts of that state and you do not state all the facts. Was the first man guilty of Murder 2 times and then then made a foolish mistake by pushing the law limits? The Liberal Judges in one state never give a death sentence for any reason and another state it is meted out under different laws and judges. Al Capone had many murdered and never was convicted, it was a simple change in the Tax laws that put him away for life

What's your major malfunction? Are you either defendant? What do you care? Is life supposed to be fair? Do bears not attack, maim and kill, in the wild?
I agree with the respondent who referred to this as a loaded question. Furthermore, I will argue that it is the secular Satanists who frame questions in this manner so as to divided Americans. If they suceed in dividing us against each other they will conquer.
On the specifics of these cases I can only fail to completely speak from an educated point of view. I know nothing of either case and I hardly ever pay any attention whatsoever to anything the mainstream media has to say. It's all propaganda anyway.
I guess if it's the only thing you've got going in your life to point out the absurdities then you'll have plenty to keep you busy with the remainder of your existence. Try reading the Federal Reserve Act and asking why the mainstream media fails to give proper coverage to the fact that The Federal Reserve is a privately held corporation whose owners also own, by controlling the majority stock, much of mainstream media as well as many of the multi-national corporations many Americans see as name brand corporations and Demonrats believe are owned by the "rich Republicans."
Do you really still believe that the Party of the "little guy" is the party of the "little guy?" How is it possible that bums under bridges with bottles of booze, united with wefare recipients and the working guy can come up with the spare change to finance the liberal movement without the big financial support of big bankers, insurance, Wall Street, Hollyweirdos, corporations and trial attorneys?
Time to get a clue. Why are there so few straightforward political leaders like Congressman Ron Paul?

It has nothing to do with race
and everything to do with stupidly written and executed laws.
The "black man" is a habitual offender and falls under the 3 strikes law that California believes works. His 25 years was reduced to 6, so cheer up, he has a chance to get out and victimize your family.
The child rapist is just another criminal deal where the D.A. gives everything away to get some prosecution. Usually happens when they do not have substantial information to convict in trial.
Funny, both these crimes were against children and both Prosecuters mentioned the protection of children as the reasons. We Americans need to stand up and tell our government that child molestors need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

You are not being fair to the USA. I cannot believe there is such a disparity in the law. This is just an isolated case of a biased judge against who a complaint ought to have been lodged if not by the accused, at least by the general public. I have always found the US to be very fair to me having travelled almost each and every port in the US.

I lost faith in the Justice system when O.J. Simpson walked. Your two examples are just confirmations of a ham-handed system where the victim is the last thing that matters. BTW, the pizza guy was intimidating the children involved so he's not without culpability, but the sentence is too extreme.

well a child molester thing isnt right, but that doesnt mean that the thief is. see, it wasnt for stealing pizza, it was because of all the prior offenses. repeat offender. state question properly, please. and stop with the black\white comparison. many black men walk while white men go to prison too. what you are complaining about is called "our ****** up legal system", and it happens. enter year 2007.

Three strikes! My god, do you people still do that?
Is the US ever going to come out of the Middle Ages with respect to crime and punishment?
The theft of a pizza. Why did it even go to court. Its possible the cost of the trial itself could have bought out the pizza business. Now the guy sits for the rest of his days eating.....er......free pizza.
Why the obsession with punishment and no reference to compensation?
