I'm 19 and I'm depressed maybe this is due to the fact that I hardly talk at home and in school. It's because firstly, I'm a loner and a paranoid.

I read a book that says something that goes "People who hardly talk might suffer from depression" an I felt that I fall into that category.

And often stay at home and stare the four corners of my bedroom due to the fact that I don't what to talk about with my parents. I'm the only child by the way and I dont have any boyfriends. My friends were all busy with their everyday life and i don't wish to trouble them.

Another thing that bothers me is my personality. I'm not myself anymore and I don't know who I am anymore. I have dream in mind and I want to live that dreams I had. But my inner voice is killing me.

I seriously need help.

You need to talk to somebody before you self destruct!
You know you need help and that being so quiet and reserved is getting you dow so you must get out there and start enjoying yourself more.
Call your friends and have a laugh with them. Talk to your parents so they can help you with your emotional state.
If you keep your feelings bottled inside, you are harming no one but yourself.
Please take the steps towards improving your life. You are 19 and have the rest of your life ahead of you.
The worst thing you can do is look back at your life in 20years time and feel that you havent realy lived!
Good Luck!

We are almost the same but now I tried to overcome being depressed even though I really feel bad about that sort of thing. It's just a matter of disciplining yourself and always be in the positive side of life. I am also a loner before and honestly, I am a boring person coz I don't know how to laugh at jokes but now I am different to my past coz I realize that being happy and not thinking of those bad memories but instead reviving my happy memories with my friends and family and always keep in mind that we should smile always to be able to avoid being so irritated or depressed sometimes. I hope my advice became useful for you to be a more lively and enthusiastic person... That's all

Start loving yourself. There is no law that says you HAVE to be sociable. There are many different types of people in this world. You come under the quiet, shy, and don't like to talk for talking sake type. Nothing wrong with that. Don't try to fight against who you are. This will definitely make you FEEL depressed.

You are NOT depressed, just a little worried because you think you should be a certain way which they say is 'normal' You are NORMAL. Value yourself and you will feel happy with yourself.

People who know and love you, will accept you for who YOU are.
You will attempt to do all the things you dream about...
When YOU are ready.

Exercise. Start going for 30 minute walks, over time turn those walks into 30 minute runs. By exercising your body will begin releasing endorphins which will lift your overall mood and give you a sense of bliss. Also this will get you out and give you something to focus on and see improvement in. This also gives you a sense of accomplishment and that is a great feeling. Another thing is to try taking a supplement called St. John's Wort, it helps in the release of endorphins that'll lift your mood.
