How many days/weeks does it usually take until the ovary is fertilized by the sperm? I would like to know if I'm safe from pregnancy because on the 8th the condom fell off and I just started my period yesterday. I'm I safe then? Thanks for any and all help.

Sperm can stay alive for around 5 days but usually needs to fertilize the egg within the first day. You obviously had sex toward the end of your cycle which isnt your most fertile time, your period is a pretty good indication that your not pregnant although it doesnt always happen that way.

Up to 5 days. Usually sperm dies or has fertilised your ovum beforehand but it can survive up there for 5 days.
You may still be pregnant, very early in pregnancy women can still get their period. If your period isn't of regular flow you may be pregnant. If it's too light then that may be a sign and you should take a pregnancy test in about a week.

The virginal area? None... sperm isn't typically found in on/in a virgin.
Really though. If you've had your period you're probably safe. Next time, make sure you keep the morning after pill around just in case.

SAFE?? Just because you started your period doesn't mean you're not pregnant.....u can still have your period. Quit having sex, that's the safest......unless you want children. Home pregnancy test or doc.

If you started your menstrual cycle then that means your egg along with every thing else was flushed out, to start over new.
