Okay yesterday my best friend told me she thinks that she might be a little more than human. She claims that sometimes she hears a voice... more like a person in her head telling her to do things. She's really scared and has only told me and two other friends. I know it sounds ridiculous but please help us out. She doesn't use drugs nor has ever drank alcohol. She's completely clean on everything like that. She's just in a cast because of a torn calf muscle. Hurry up and help please

I've contemplated talking to her parents because her boyfriend and I decided they need to know. I think the doctor thing might be a good idea.

I doubt depression and loneliness because were 13 and the both of us have all the friends in the world and she sees her boyfriend almost every weekend. I will be sure to talk to her parents whether she wants me to or not. Thank you all about recommending Schitzophrenia. I will do some research and try to get everything sorted out.

First of all, check to see if she is having any problems, because she might be just talking to her self mentally, or she might be doing it for some attention from the ones she loves.

If you find that this is not the case, check to see if the drugs she is taking for her leg pain are causing the voices. Otherwise, encourage her to talk to parents, and also encourage her to make an appointment to see a psychologist. She may have schizophrenia, which is a condition where people hear voices and have hallucinations.

Sweetie, it's obvious that she needs help. You must be very special in that she trusted you with this revelation. Only a Psychiatrist would know for sure what the diagnosis should be, However, as some of the other answerers said, schizophrenics do hear voices. Help her to get the help she needs any way that you can before she harms herself. I would tell her that she needs to tell her parents so that they can get her the help that she needs. Tell her that you'll go with her when she tells them if she wants you to be there for moral support. Tell her that if she doesn't tell them, that you will since you are very concerned for her safety and well-being. Be sure to follow through. If you do need to tell her folks, just say to them what you wrote in your question. She must feel so frightened and alone. How sweet and kind you are to care for your friend.

If you can completely rule-out the possibility that she may be an attention-seeker (I've had my experiences with friends like that, real annoying) then she could have something called schitzophrenia. This causes hallucinations like you've explained. Tell her she needs to see a psychiatrist immediately. Is she on a heavy dose of pain medication for the cast? ...that might have something to do with it...but i doubt it.

what she is experiencing is something natural, i say this because i know people who too experience this kind of phenomena, it could be voice they hear, sometimes just a vague feeling of something happening somewhere which actullay turns out to be true, or one can hear the voice of somebody only for that person to appear afterwards, it could be a dream of an event which later occurs in the future. i think it is perfectly normal. in the bible people saw visions and they dreamt dreams, all a way of God talking to them.
i think that she need not be worried, only hear what the voice is saying and find the right interpretation to this voice, but she needs to listen to her conscience as well.

I've ever experience this situation before and guess what, it's actually nothing. I guess it's just her inner voice that is talking to her all time.

I guess she's either depress or just seeking attention. AS for me, I'm a little depressed and that's the reason why I kept hearing things back then.

Well your friend should tell one of her parents. Or maybe she can talk to a counsler. I've never meet anyone like that before. Wish I could help. I hope everything goes good.

She needs help for sure, help her to get help by getting her to a doctor, possible depression issues or mental problems and if at all possible make sure she's not left alone, keep her with people until this is defeated.

Your friend could have a number of brain disorders and my advice would be to tell her to go and have it checked out.
