I'm 62, and I really enjoy swings, but rarely get the chance. I used to think it was because we were too big, so I accepted it, but nowadays many 10 year olds are heavier than me. I was in a park last week, and nobody else was around, so had a lovely swing. It did not break. And now I'm staying in a house where there's a swing, so for the next two weeks I'm in heaven. I think it's time this outdated rule was changed, nobody over a certain weight, rather than a certain age - what do you think ?

i take my gran in her wheelchair under the cover of darkness to her local park so she can have a shot, it's a shame that this is the case. i have written to the local council and they have refused to change the rules. my gran now wants me to buy her some spray paint so she can cover the place in grafitti. it's getting a bit out of hand. perhaps with the place covered in obscene language from this delinquent geriatric they may sit up and take note. with you all the way.

Adults are not allowed on the swing!!!? Where is that!? I am living in the USA and I am 46 and I get on a swing every time I get near one. Nobody ever said I can't. I especially like swinging up high as I can and jumping out YEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAA!! If that is really a rule or law where you are then yes by all means it should be changed.

I ALWAYS ignore the age rule in parks.Always have. At 5ft & 7st I think they might have trouble enforcing it if they took me to court!!!!!! Heehee. I love the swings but my favorite is the chute (or slide as most english people call it). Most of my mates will have a go to, the ones that dont are stick in the mud in other ways too!!!!

At least within the teachings of the Stone Circle Tradition of Wicca, our sense is that Wicca does have a sexual ethic, and it is more complex than just "harm none." The Wiccan Way (also known as the Woodland Path) calls us to engagement with the world, to radical participation in the Life principle, and to responsible fulfillment of our individual needs and personal vocations. This applies to the erotic dimension of life as well. Wicca does not affirm either monogamous (or uniamorous) or polyamorous relationships as the "right way" to be sexually, any more than Wicca advocates either same-gender or opposite-gender loving. Wicca advocates the radical idea that you are called to honestly recognize and follow the dictates of your true needs, and to do this in a way that recognizes also the legitimacy, reality, and validity of others' feelings and needs. So, polyamorous relationships are right for some Wiccan couples/triples, because that sexual choice best reflects their real erotic needs. For others, dyadic sexual fidelity is the right choice, because that best meets their needs and best reflects their true desires and feelings. For others, a purely solitary way is the most appropriate choice, either with many casual sexual partners or none. There is no one liberated, correct, revolutionary sexual choice; there is only the liberated, correct, revolutionary principle of honest sexual choice-making. Hope this helps.

They don't allow it, not because of weight or height, but because alot of children are abducted in parks and the like. Any adult without a child is usually not allowed in the play area period, for this reason. I personally agree with it, because if you change the rule you basically give a pedophile or serial killer free access to our children.

The simple answer is to do with the health and safety implications. By definition swings fall under play areas designed for children, and are insured accordingly.

When no one's around, I climb on the swing. Only, they've now changed them to baby swings, which is a pity.
I wonder why I don't build one in my garden - hmmm!
