Occult simply means "hidden or concealed".. that could apply to christianity as well, as it is a "mystery religion".

As for the devil, even most satanists don't believe in a literal "devil". But, I bet you have never even thought to find out what those you call occultists believe, much less what satanists believe.

Those of us that you like to lump into the satan-worshippers category don't even believe in "satan", as he is a "fallen angel" contrived strictly by the christians. Even the jewish people don't see satan like you do, and that's where you claim to get him from.

You take Isaiah 14:12-17, and twist that to mean something it isn't. It's about Halel (which means Day-star), a babylonian king who tormented the jewish people for a very long time and then lost his power. The word "Lucifer" (latin, meaning light-bearer) is a total mistranslation and not even a Greek one at that.

The Jews see Satan as being in God's employ- he is the challenger (Ha-satan) who God sends to people to test their faith and strengthen them. He is not God's enemy.

In fact, the only other place you see him in the "Old Testament" is in Job, and he is doing God's work. He even presents himself as one of the sons of god, which an enemy cannot do.

It's sad that you christians really feel the need to try to scare people into believing in your God. If he's so loving, this shouldn't be an issue.

What's even more sad is that most of you don't even know your own bible well enough to argue your points.. as evidenced by this uneducated question.

I'm an occultist, but I don't believe in the devil, so he's done nothing for me. If he even exists, we must agree to disagree and stay out of each other's way. Oddly, I rarely even hear about him, except from supposedly religious people. Way to keep the energy alive :-Z

Not all occultists are devil worshipers. My religion doesn't have a devil.

No devil in my spectrum of beliefs, but I heard the he (the devil) makes a good scapegoat for Christians that can't take any responsibility in their lives.

My beliefs don't have anything to do with the Christian devil (Satan, lucifer etc.)

Occult= something that is hidden. This can apply even to Christianity.

The devil? Prove to me that this entity exists and we'll talk.

One of my enemies is dying of cancer. Does THAT count as help? Another, "supposed" friend is suffering from a lingering illness for refusing to provide me with a new wife of suitable nature. Does THAT count as help?

the word occult just means 'hidden' so someone who works with occult knowledge is just someone who deals with things that are not known to all..... like the fact that the occult has nothing to do with the Christian anti-god figure.

He has taught me to make my own decisions instead of blindly following some invisible, egotistical father-figure.
