If you are afraid of forgetting then you should take the shot. Also you should make sure your partner wears a condom no matter if you are using contraceptives or not.
I don't know where you are from but the IUD is not legally available in the US because of medical complications the last time I checked

Hi, I got the implant last November (Implanon), and it's great (they put it in your arm after it's been numbed, it's the size of a matchstick). It lasts for 3 years, doesn't hurt, you don't have to remember anything, and you can have it taken out at any time - fertility returns straight away. It doesn't cause bone loss like the shot and there are less side effects than the pill because the dose is so small. It is very effective - 100% - no one has ever got pregnant on it. It also makes your periods lighter - sometimes they go completely, sometimes you can bleed for 6 months BUT you can get hormones if this happens. I was due on the day before I got the Implant, I came on 3 weeks later, it was REALLY light, barely nothing, but lasted a month. After 6 months it settles down into a regular cycle.

The depo shot worked for me. When i was 15 my mom wouldnt get me birth control. Keep in mind i had a boyfriend for the last 2 years and I was graduated from high school. But with the depo shot no one even knew i was on birth control and its more effective than the pill. You just have to remember it every 3 months. You can bleed for the first month or so but most dont even get thier periods after like 3 or 4 months. I was on the depo shot for 13 years and i got off it in May of 2006 and now im 5 months pregnant. I waited till i was ready. Just remember the pill or the shot which ever you choose does not protect against any STDs and its never going to be 100% effective.

I would not choose for an IUD, they are more prone for infections and can mess with your fertility if the infections get bad enough, and can also cause women to get hysterectomy's.
The shot, if used in long amounts of time can result in bone loss and in an increased risk of osteoporosis. You have to get it done every 3 months, etc. If you were to try to ttc, then it could be immediatly or anywhere from 6-18 months. It also takes 6 months for the hormones to completely rid itself from your body.
I couldn't find anything else wrong with them, I don't ever hear anything about IUD's anymore. A lot of people are getting the ring (Nuvaring) but it can cause clotting and I know a couple people who have gotten pregnant while using it since it can pop out of place. But the IUD is the same way, you can also get pregnant using it.
Also you can have irregular bleeding at first with the shot, just like the pill your body isn't stable for atleast 2 months or so. You have to give your body time to get used to it. In the first month of the pill I bled for 2 weeks for no reason, it's different for everybody.

Use the only form guaranteed to protect you from pregnancy and STDs... abstinence. If you're that "confused" about birth control and you're too "forgetful" to handle the huge responsibility of taking a pill every time you brush your teeth then you are not capable of making serious, smart choices about sex.

Try the pill. If you're always with your cell phone, use the alarm on that to remind you. And keep condoms with you to protect from STI's and offer double protection against pregnancy, don't rely on the man all the time.

Not all people will react the same to every type of birth control. I think the depo shot is the best birth control.

Here's an idea. Don't have sex at all. Don't go on the shot as that makes you infertile. I had a friend who was on the shot and now she can't have kids ever because of it.
