Since circumference if given as 24 cm. Radius can be solved.

circumference formula

C = 2 π r

24 = 2 π r

24 / 2π = 2πr / 2π

24 / 2π = r

24 / 6.283185307 = r

3.819718634 = r

The radius is 3.819718634

The Volume can be solved

Volume formula

V = π r² h

V = 3.141592654(3.819718634)²(108)

V = 3.141592654(14.59025044)(108)

V = 45.83662361(108)

V = 4950.355349

V = 4950 cm² rounded up

The string makes 6 complete turns. Good, make 6 cylinder out of this one cylinder by keeping the circumference intact but dividing the height by 6. So you get 6 cylinders of height 18 cm (108/6 = 18) and circumference 24 cm.

Now, what is a cylinder? We can say a rectangle just rolled to give the shape of the cylinder. So make a rectangle from the cylinder. The height of the rectangle will be 18 cm and base will be 24 cm. And the string will be its diagonal.

So the length of one turn of the string will be (18^2 + 24^2)^1/2 i.e. square root of the summation of height's square and base's square i.e. 30 cm.

This is for one turn of the string. So the total length of the string is 6*30 cm = 180 cm.
