when you say " do you still have a boyfriend" , it means any boyfriend( including a specific one)? and when you say "THE boyfriend" it means specific boyfriend?

"Do you still have a boyfriend?" would suggest that the person asking the question is thinking of a specific boy that she knows the other person was going out with. If the person being asked is going out with a new boy, then she would probably answer: "I broke up with Tedd. I'm now dating Juan."


It would be improper English to say "Do you still have THE boyfriend".
