A couple of days ago I posted the question, "Is it me or does Indian president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam look like Mr Burns from the simpson's?". This was meant to be a light hearted funny question because the picture yahoo put up of him against his question was an Indian looking Mr burns!!!..which I though was really funny. I got 8 responses, 6 finding it funny, as intended, then another 2 asking not to tease him and saying I was prejudice!! Can anyone tell me how I was being prejudice? This also brings me onto Big Brother and how Oftel have had 200 complaints about Shilpa being targeted by housemates Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara because she is Indian!! What a load of @*&'@**'s! The reason she is being ignored is because she is not a very nice person and they don't get on with her....NOT because she is Indian...The complaint's have stemed from 2 of the house mates mimicking her accent which surely makes her a racist for mimicking Jade all the time!

At last - someone who thinks the same as I do !! Well said you. It seems to me that some people use the race card as a matter of course when they are losing an argument or discussion. As for the Shilpa saga - I think Shilpa has been more offensive to the other girls than they have to her. She cant get her own way so she crys and sulks like a kid - instantly she gets the sympathy vote and the others are accused of bullying and racism - utter rubbish. xxxxxxx

Its a matter of upbringing when it comes to these matters. Recently a collegue of mine was almost punched because of a discussion over football, the person concerned was so passionate about his club that any joke about it was sacrileage. This bloke was brought up by parents who were absolute worshippers of this particular club, so for him any adverse comments about his club were totally unacceptable. It is like a worship for this family. Anyone who says anything against his club is prejudiced!
In India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is a very respected figure and not because he is the President of India but because he was a renowned scientist and research scholar before he became President. He is known for leading a very simple life and is a very spiritual person. As per ancient Indian tradition lots of stress is laid on education and learning and a person of knowledge, culture and learning is greatly respected almost revered. So, to most Indians any joke about such a person seems hard to take.
So, prejudice does not come in the picture you just made a funny remark with no intention of hurting. As I said it is just the way people are brought up that affects it.

There are some adult males that favor tochronic with the motor vehicle free and those drivers have a tendency to be somewhat solid. those i understand of comprise Kyle, Carl Edwards, Kasey Kahne and at circumstances Smoke. i imagine Smoke willchronic something he's given. driving free is purely one element. turning out to be up as a baby racing is yet another component to his skills. it is in his muscle reminiscence or it is in his bones to be able to speak. He is likewise acquainted with his motor vehicle and what it would want to do and with information from now he's acquainted with what it would want to't do and save in recommendations this. I also ask your self if he has a health plan like Carl and Jeff G. i imagine that if it can make him a much better motive force he will attempt it. He may even play video games to make him better. I received't count number that out as a probability. Dale Jr. performs on-line racing such as his acquaintances and that i imagine he believes that it helps him out some. He did not somewhat say if it did help when I pronounced him fess up on the gaming.

well i can sympathize with your viewpoint. i think the reason you get this reaction is that some ethnic minorities get discriminated against, and then become prejudice agains the majority - assuming that the majority will be prejudice. its a natural reaction for a person to have - if you meet 10 white people and 3 of them are racist in some way, you will assume more white people to be racist, and become over sensitive to jokes that have anything to do with race. its just something that happens. its a natural reaction for humans to judge things based on what theyve experienced. if youd seen 10 people get eaten by lions youd be weary of lions right.. its just the same - if you see 10 people of your racial group receive abuse from the majority race, youll be weary of that race. as far as shilpa is concerned, i think shes alright. i hate jo and that liverpudlian one actually! but whatever i dont think them disliking shilpa is racism.. thats over sensitivity

Everything that has EVER caused any problems in this world is usually caused by people who should be a bit more sensitive about the feelings of others and aren't or by people taking offence when it was supposed to be a joke.

Some (not all) play the race card for manipulative purposes*. Some however, have no sense of humour and/or are a bit thick.
* Isn't necessarily used by the ethnic minority either.

Because they can take advantage of our liberal tendencies, make us feel guilty and get more out of us. Some black and Asians do it, some Jews do it, very few children don't do it, advertising agencies encourage us all to do it. Just put up with it. At least, while you are pulling their tails, you don't have to let them pull yours.

man, people need to relax and not get so hurt. You should be proud of yourself for not drawing a picture of him with a bomb in his turben and then having the entire MIddle East lined-up at your house wanting to burn and kill you. (yes, i know, India is not in the Middle East, I was just making an anology)
